THE YOUTH

photography Sasha Frumin style & words Katie Keim

The photographer and I were both born in the 80’s and lived our adolescent years in the 90’s.  The 90’s to me felt like a very equality driven time.  The first time that I noticed masculine and feminine mixed.   Girls dressed like boys, but somehow made it look even more feminine.

SVET: Maroon Wool Blazer Stella McCartney, Charcoal Sports Bra Champion,
Bulls Basketball Shorts Adidas Bucket Hat Carhartt, WIP/Starter, Crew Socks Nike, Sandals Teva
SASHA: Red Silk Shirt A.L.C., Black Shorts Henrik Vibskov, Crew Socks Nike, Sneakers Air Jordan, Glasses Stylist’s Own

Mixing oversized earrings and brown lip liner… it was a cool time to start to carve yourself out in the world and even the way you wore your hat said something.

SVET: White Overalls Carhartt, USA Practice Soccer Jersey, Neon Orange Birkenstocks

GRACE: Cream Sweater Rag and Bone, Shorts Mens Nike Bristol, Crew Socks Nike, Nike Vintage Blazers, Earrings Chinatown

Youth lends a type of strength and trust in ourselves.  To do and be just what we feel or how we mimic the world…No one is worried about time…you’re just getting started.
